Description

I build myself a gaming PC. It's amazing. All of the parts worked together quite well, but I advise that you choose low-profile memory instead. Heat spreaders look cool, but in the end, they just get in the way of things. My CPU cooler was extremely close to the RAM, as shown in one of the pictures. I overclocked the CPU to 4.5GHz, and the GPU to 1102MHz. I'm really happy with this build. Thank you, PCPartPicker!

Edit: guys, don't be afraid of my CPU temps. That was because I overclocked the CPU AND IntelBurnTest is designed to raise the temps that high. Essentially, no other program can possibly raise the temps past 80 degrees.

SSD BRO!

I'll try to get myself a Samsung 830 128GB soon, whenever it's on sale. Or maybe Christmas? Whatever. This PC is still lightning fast, regardless.

Everything looks clean, great job. If your looking for perfection you could get a 8 pin power extension wire. I have the same psu and know the troubles of its short wires. You did really well with your wire management considering.

Thanks bro.

Your intel i5 sticker isn't straight. Nice build though.

DitchMyXbox submitter 1 Build 1 point 29 months ago

Yeah it's a bit crooked. But it still looks fancy.

I'll warn you now, you will get flamed for your motherboard. For some reason people on this site have a hate for Biostar. I have the exact same mobo and CPU and they are both wonderful. =] Also, kudos on choice of monitor. Dell makes some good ones.

All in all I think you have a damn good build for the price and a sick case.

DitchMyXbox submitter 1 Build 1 point 29 months ago

Thank you sir. I was looking at parts for months, and I saved money and upgraded parts on this list constantly. End result is swag doe. Ram is a close call, but if I want to upgrade, I'll just get some low profile stuff. No biggie.

MrStig91 1 Build 1 point 30 months ago

Also, I noticed you mentioned your RAM heat spreaders getting in the way, you could always go with a Corsair Hydro series cooler and everything will fit fine. =]

Only thing I would do is add an SSD, but otherwise your build is perfect.

DitchMyXbox submitter 1 Build 1 point 29 months ago

Yeah, that would definitely be nice, but it's still by far the fastest PC I've ever used. I'll try to get an SSD for Christmas. Specifically, a 128GB Samsung 830.

I was just wondering, could someone take a look at my setup? Planning to build it and wondering if it's a good build. http://pcpartpicker.com/ca/p/jRub

Sweet build man, especially for the good price!

Guys can somebody help me out here? Sorry for asking for help comments but I need some questions answered :P Firstly, I live in Singapore so should I buy from a local store and ask them to build it for me? (Im new and afraid to build myself but have done a heck load of reading on this) Or is it cheaper to buy from newegg? Because in Singapore shipping would be hard for newegg to ship right? And I don't know if the currency is bigger than SGD if converted. I like this build :) I want to get something like this but how can I get it? Any advice? Lastly, I have a budget of around SGD$800 so can somebody help me recommend a good build? I'm looking for a budget gaming pc and this build looks good too- http://pcpartpicker.com/b/y6Z Btw I'm 15, would appreciate any help. Thanks in advance!

CheesyHotDogPuff 1 point 30 months ago

You should ask on toms hardware. And newegg doesn't ship to singapore but there is a lot of other websites that do. if you can, buy them from local stores.

spectrumn 1 point 30 months ago

I did and everything is great now, thanks!

Yeah your CPU temp is scary high. Just a thought, I've never seen mine get higher than...39-40 C, and it idles at 33 C (http://pcpartpicker.com/p/Vje) Guess I should take some pics. Unless you meant Fahrenheit, then you're completely fine

DitchMyXbox submitter 1 Build 1 point 29 months ago

My CPU is overclocked by 1.1GHz right now. I used IntelBurnTest to stress test it, and it will max out your temperature. If that gets it to 87, no other program can. So 87 is quite safe, and we're talking ABSOLUTE MAXIMUM LOAD here. Video games get it to like 60 degrees maximum.

Nice. How's that 660ti? Good build!

DitchMyXbox submitter 1 Build 1 point 29 months ago

Borderlands 2 goes at a nice 120fps, pristine quality.

fatalanomaly 1 point 29 months ago

wait bro are your fans blowing into each other? LOL

DitchMyXbox submitter 1 Build 1 point 29 months ago

which ones? front is intake, back and top are exhaust. side is intake, and internal cooling fans go up and back too

cabable 1 point 29 months ago

Love the name, going to do the same sometime soon...whenever I get a job to pay for the build I want =(, great build though, looks really good.

thanks bro, I appreciate the comment.

I got the money for this by lifeguarding the whole summer. Get you some income!

The CPU temps are really high. I seriously recommend getting a better cooler. Great build.

Maybe you could stop stalking me around and seeing everything I post, just because I said your build was bad after you posted it twice? I give constructive criticism, I don't say someone's build is bad without saying why. Except in your case, where your build was bad in just about every way and it wasn't worth my limited time. Plus you had gotten feedback on your old post.

DitchMyXbox submitter 1 Build 1 point 29 months ago

No. I overclocked it by 1.1GHz. Plus the maximum temperature data was collected using IntelBurnTest, which Is maximum CPU load. The highest it goes during gaming is 60 degrees.

danielhep 1 point 29 months ago

Just be careful. Over 80 degrees is going to shorten the life of your cpu

DitchMyXbox submitter 1 Build 1 point 29 months ago

Yeah, but it doesn't reach 80 unless I'm forcing it to. I think I'm good

Whoa bro. I got the cheapest z77 motherboard I could find. Any other chipset results in sub-optimal performance. And the case? It looks amazing. Too bad.

they do not support crossfire/SLI

DitchMyXbox submitter 1 Build 1 point 29 months ago

well i won't SLI until the things are worth like $100. and sorry, but z77 is the way to go for overclocking a 3570k.
