Description

Built most of this rig last year for gaming but changed all the crucial parts, Mobo, CPU, and Video card in the last month. Also added a custom water cooling loop into the mix. Very happy with my changes I made and can't wait to see what this setup can do through all the benchmarking and overclocking I am planning for.

I know most of you are probably going to say that my PSU is overkill but I had originally planned to go 3-way SLI EVGA GTX 670 4GB with my previous build 5760x1080 gaming, on top of having a custom water cooling loop with pump and lights while all being overclocked to the max. I had two cards when I bought the PSU and was planning on getting a third but I ended up selling one card and one monitor to two friends and decided to get a 780. Eventually I will probably get a second 780 but who knows.

Had to make a few case modifications, plastic and metal, to get the (3) 120mm fan radiator to fit on top of the case and still have room to close the metal screen cover. Also, some of the plastic on the rear of the case had to be trimmed away to fit the 120mm Radiator mounted to the back outside of the case.

In some of the pictures I am using my backup Dell USB keyboard. My Luxeed U7 keyboard needed to be sent in for service to fix a couple LEDs that had gone out. The keyboard should be back soon.

I haven't had the chance to run 3Dmark 11 to get the benchmarks to add to this site but I did run the new 3D mark and Unigen Heaven 4.0. I posted a picture of each result. Overall the build runs very cool and I am very satified with my choices in parts.

EDIT: Ran 3DMark 11 today. Scores are posted along with a picture.

Putting together the build went very smoothly. I've had a lot of fun and really great luck with the original build and the rebuild.

Hope you all will like it!

Kyle

PS: PCPartPicker didn't have my graphics card available as a choice under the parts list for the cards, so I had to add it as a custom part. Sorry for the confusion.

Thanks Man!

Zeus 1 Build 2 points 21 months ago

Those tubes look very unique! +1 for a sexy build

on a side note: I noticed a red sata cable, it isnt too obvious with that gpu there. But a matching white one would look much nicer.

Kyle1519 submitter 2 Builds 1 point 21 months ago

I didn't think anyone would notice that lol. For some reason the mobo came with 4 black and white cables and then 3 red. Don't know why they couldn't make them all the same but I will change that out soon. Thanks for the +1!

Zeus 1 Build 1 point 21 months ago

Weird ahah, you'd think they would make them all the same to save time and money..

MahimulH 1 point 21 months ago

Lol, the top of the case got murdered. :P Nice build. I love seeing watercooled builds. :)

Kyle1519 submitter 2 Builds 1 point 21 months ago

Lol yeah lots of it had to be cut out in order to fit the radiator. It fit very snug in the end though so it worked out. Thank you!

RyneSmith 7 Builds 1 point 21 months ago

I really like this and the tubing is pretty nice with the black ribbing!

However I do have two nit picky things (just because I'm a perfectionist)

I'm not a fan of the tubing outside the case however I see in this instance you had to do it to fit the triple radiator up top so I can look past it!

I do wish you did somewhat of a better job blending/hiding the cathodes.. an you attach the top one to the side of the rad? or is the cable too short? The other one just needs to be straighter!

The build is great so don't let my criticisms take away from it at all, I'd love to have this machine!

+1 and a few more if I could

Kyle1519 submitter 2 Builds 1 point 21 months ago

Thanks for your feedback. The cathodes aren't mounted to anything really. They only come with about 5 inches of cable each, so I worked with what I had. The one that was crooked is now straightened up :). Thanks again!

RyneSmith 7 Builds 1 point 21 months ago

Ya I figured that they didn't have too long of cables, kind of sucks to be honest, same thing with my LED strips

Kyle1519 submitter 2 Builds 1 point 21 months ago

Yeah it does, I'll figure something out with the lighting to make it a little cleaner but for now I'll just work with what I have

RyneSmith 7 Builds 1 point 21 months ago

Haha hey if you can't you can't!

The build still looks great!

comptech0408 1 point 21 months ago

Those tubes reminded me of the movie Bettlejuice for some reason... :) +1 from me!

Kyle1519 submitter 2 Builds 2 points 21 months ago

Lmao Thanks for the compliment and the laugh!

General_Mingebag 1 point 21 months ago

Great but any particular reason for W7?

Kyle1519 submitter 2 Builds 1 point 21 months ago

Just haven't made the switch yet, I don't really like windows 8 and I'm happy with my W7. I'll probably upgrade in the coming months.

Swish2000 1 point 21 months ago

Hey! I'm sorry if I sound dumb, but why are you routing the tubing outside the case? IMHO it kinda ruins the sleek look of the build. Just curious. Other than that the build looks amazing!

xshadowinxbc 2 Builds 1 point 21 months ago

Should have went with a Classified 780. According to what you linked that's just an FTW.

bsdev820 1 Build 1 point 21 months ago

This is a very well put together and sleek build. Epic cable management, watercooling and parts choices. Very cool and great job!

+1

LookTopHats 2 Builds 1 point 21 months ago

Great build, in one of favorite cases +1

ElloMello 1 point 20 months ago

My gosh this computer is so sexy

ITneto 1 point 15 months ago

Wow. Really stunning! One question what's the difference between this amazing card you've got and the other EVGA 780?

masterjon902 1 point 15 months ago

The built in waterblock? only thing i can really think

ITneto 1 point 15 months ago

I meant the FTW version, I thought that the PCB of that card wouln't suppport the waterblock

seraj89 1 point 14 months ago

I looked at your task bar and its a solid gray. Did you get Aero for your destop yet?

DerekPDX 1 point 13 months ago

Hey I'm looking for a new mouse, and the Roccat Kova+ is near the top of my list. What do you think of it?
