Description

Installing the CPU fan was somewhat hard and I know my cable management is not great but I suck at it... The build runs really nice. The combination of the Fury and the Freesync screen is really awesome, even if drop a couple frames due to some terribly coded games it keeps up and I hardly notice. Planning on upgrading to a Vega when that releases...

Why would you spend all this money on good parts just to put it in an old case and not cable manage it.

geoffg315 1 Build 4 points 7 days ago

Case does not equal performance and neither does cable management

Beebat 2 Builds 1 point 7 days ago

I know but if you're going to spend this much you should at least make it look presentable/have good air flow and such.

geoffg315 1 Build 1 point 6 days ago

Cable management doesn't really affect airflow unless you're like completely blocking fans. LTT even made a video on it. The case is fine, just because it's bare metal doesn't mean it looks bad.

Cables do attract more dust though, and we all know dust inside a pc is not something we want.

Nothing wrong with cable managing anyways :)

geoffg315 1 Build 1 point 5 days ago

Well yes I completely agree with you but some people think that having a few loose cable like that is detrimental to your temps while people have tested stuffing a PC with stuffed animals and stuff and it made like a 2 C difference lol

Because I still haven't found a successor to this one that I like... And the cable management - I wasn't sure if it will work at all, what with all the reports for this motherboard, but I will redo the cable management and clean it up soon, still testing if everything is fine with the Ryzen/mobo combo.

Beebat 2 Builds 1 point 7 days ago

Understandable.

Please cable manage. Please.

lpmafiota submitter 1 Build 1 point 7 days ago

Will do, soon...

i understand the HAF X is an older case, but i overall agree with TheOfficialCzex. you can use zipties or velcro (both are cheap), and there are videos on Youtube explaining how to cable manage. it also needs a good spray with canned air. it looks like moving into an apartment that wasn't vacuumed when the previous tenants left.

please take this as constructive criticism. i do like the fact that you got your Ryzen system fully running and overall would look great with some cleanup. bear in mind that people like to gripe about how Ryzen sucks at gaming. in reality it was made to take on Intel's X99 chips in prosumer tasks like video editing and number-crunching.

It's actually a 922, misclicked and didn't notice at first, which is even worse for integrated cable management options but yes, I know it needs a lot of cable management and I know how to do it, just that I'm not really good at it and still not sure if the Ryzen/mobo will be stable. And yeah, the Ryzen isn't as great as the 7700k for gaming I guess, but it's a lot better than my old 3330, not to mention great for streaming and multitasking with all the extra threads.

as long as the cables are as out of the way as possible around major air flow paths, it'll be fine. it doesn't even have to look pretty, just functional. and as long as you don't try to diddle around with the BIOS too much your board and CPU will be fine.

I like this!

Thanks.

What I see...

Please for the love of god manage those cables... This is an awesome high end PC, give it some well deserved love.

+1 for ryzen :P

Project460 1 Build 1 point 7 days ago

Love this AMD build. However, i agree with most here. A 1600$ computer should not look like this. Go back in and spend a while making it look clean not just for aesthetics but also for airflow. You still get a +1 from me because, well, im a AMD fanboy at heart.

Tman64general 1 Build 1 point 7 days ago

HA! I love how everyone expects ALL Ryzen builds to be pristine and cable managed and pretty and then you do something like this. LOL! In the end, the computer is how the owner wants it to be. If it doesn't need to look pretty because you don't want it to, then it doesn't have to look pretty!

Great build man! You are an inspiration. (I'm not being sarcastic if that is what you are thinking).

Nice AMD specs! cool build!

DuRoach 1 Build 1 point 7 days ago

Very pretty, I wasnt a fan either until i got a S340 elite. for my Ryzen build. You should give them a look see, Who knows could be your thing. But Beautiful build!
