Only took me 30 min to find out how to post my completed build -.- I'm an idiot that needs big sparkly buttons for these things XD
It was really fun to build this. Going into the build I knew NOTHING about computer internals. I had replaced the hard drive on a laptop and that was it. I started researching and saving money around January of this year and now I think I know quite a lot about computer internals. I was a little impatient and ended up buying parts weeks before I even built the thing so that's why I don't have an i5-4670k.
EDIT: Thank You to the amazing SaabTheFox I am in queue for a EVGA GTX 770 using the Step-Up Program! Itll be a couple weeks before I get it but I'm fine with that! I may have to buy an 8pin green VGA cable cause I have 2 6-pin :( EDIT: I got my GTX 770. I replaced my GTX 670 FTW and the 770 is x10 better! On bf3 max settings my gtx 670 would sound like a vacuum cleaner. I cant even tell the difference between the silent case fans and my graphics card when playing BF3 max. The only game that has made this card get loud is Star citizen on max settings (which is expected XD).
I scored some great deals like the CPU. I was down in LA in April an remembered that Microcenter had a in-store deal only for a $190 i5-3570k (I'm in northern Cali so that's the closet CA store to me since the Santa Clara one is gone).
The computer is great too! Its really odd to be able to set every game I play to max and not have to worry about frame rate dropping lower than 60 fps. Hell my old laptop could barley get games over 25 fps. I was worried about my laptop catching on fire then (GPU would reach 80-90 ° C sometimes)! I haven't overclocked yet (mostly because I know nothing about overclocking and I am too lazy to figure it out when my computer works fine). I will eventually overclock this guy to at LEAST 4.2 ghz but otherwise my computer is fast.
I LOVE the fans. If you cant tell I went with a green theme (except for my PSU and the gold on the gtx 670...) so I painted the white rings that came with the corsair fans. They are SUPER quite. When I first turned on my system I thought they were broken :/
Tell me what you think! Good or bad, I am always open to feedback (respectful feedback that is). And sorry for the novel I wrote for my description :/ If you read through it all then good for you!!! :D
EDIT: So I got an SSD and a 1tb HDD (the other two died :O I got them for free so its fine). The SSD is FAST and I love it. Also looking at the price of my system makes me sad... Originally I was shooting for $1200. I took off the monitor, mouse, and keyboard to make me feel better about the price of my system since those are more peripherals and were bought after XD The whole system ended costing just over $1500 which makes me sad cause I think I could have done better for $1500.
