Used mainly for gaming. Do not get the 650W, as I have learned. This power supply makes a "chirping" noise every once and a while. This chirping is seriously annoying and takes a while to get used to. Just don't buy it. Everything else is great.

that chirping noise your hear is coil whine, the sound if being made by a defective capacitor. I highly suggest you return it and get a new one.

Gaming, or taxes??

xBlood_Monkey 10 Builds 5 points 24 months ago

Who games on a PC?? This is definitely a taxmachine right here.

Russianeer 1 Build 2 points 24 months ago

You are right, but you need at least a 780ti to run TurboTax

I'd go with 3 just to make sure I'm not bottlenecking my CPU.

Would of went with 8gb RAM and a higher end gpu.

totally agree.

Looks good, but I have two questions.

1) Can you upload some more pics? 2) Where is that USB 2.0 wire going??

Happy gaming. :)

The USB 2.0 wire plugs into the blutooth on my network card, weird, but it is usefull.

I think it's probably just your psu that makes the chirping sound. Nobody knows.

xBlood_Monkey 10 Builds 2 points 24 months ago

He did say it was the PSU...

TNTrocks123 1 Build 1 point 24 months ago

no i meant his psu specifically.

A lot of people have had that issue with the HX 650. Corsair is pretty good about the warranties, I'd suggest having a talk with them.

Other than that, nice build! Only thing I would have done differently is probably get 2x4gb and spend the saved money on a nicer GPU

Corssair is a pretty good brand, even budget parts are nice. I have a CX600 and runs decently. Is a defective part and you should ask for warranty. Congrats and keep gaming!

I am planning on water cooling the CPU with a custom water loop by Christmas so check back then if you want to see more pictures.

nice build, if you decide to go with a different psu maybe try the Corsair CX600W. I used it on a very similar build to yours here, it should give you plenty enough wattage. It's also an excellent price.

Yeah 8GB ram and a 7870 GHz or a 270x, or even a 7950 maybe. You could have also went a little less with the case if you wanted to, but it's still pretty fine.

Also, get that Supply RMA's, and Idk why you spent that much on a 650w anyway, I would have went for a 750w if you wanted much more headroom like the cx750.

Still will run everything fine. +1

You could have gone with 8Gb of RAM an cheaper keyboard and case and gotten a WAY BETTER Video card.
